This year's Player Evaluations will be held at the Novato High School softball field. A full schedule is posted below.

The purpose of player evaluations is to assess every participant with the goal of creating well balanced and competitive divisions. The teams in the Majors, AAA, & AA divisions are selected via draft. The teams in the 50/70, Single-A, and T-Ball divisions are assigned manually.

It is required that ALL players League Age 8-12 that want to play in the AA Division or higher attend tryouts. If your child is League Age 7 and you feel they are ready to play at the more competitive AA Level (Kid Pitch), it is required that they attend Player Evaluations. Single-A, T-Ball, and Little Sluggers do not hold a tryout and will start after ski week, on February 23.

We’re excited to kick off another great season of Little League baseball! Player evaluations are happening January 24 & 25, at the Novato High Softball Field. Below are the updated details to help you and your player prepare for the event.

Evaluation Schedule
These time slots are based on your child’s Baseball League Age.  Please refer to this Little League Age Calendar to determine your child’s league age.  Do your best to stick to your scheduled time.  If for any reason you cannot make it, please reach out to let us know what time works for you.  Please note there is a makeup session available on Sunday late afternoon/evening for those unable to attend their scheduled time.

Location: Evaluations will take place at the Novato High School Softball Field.

Parking:  Main Parking Area: Located at Novato High School.  Back Parking Area: Near the soccer field.

Player Instructions for Evaluation Day

• Registration Location: Cement area behind home plate.
• Warm-Up: Players will warm up by playing catch in the designated area before moving to evaluation stations.
• After Evaluations: Players should collect their gear and meet their parents in the bleachers.
• Multiple sporting events will be happening at Novato High School, so please plan ahead and allow extra time for parking and arrival.
• Parents must remain in the bleacher area during evaluations to ensure a smooth process for players and coaches.

What We Will Be Evaluating

• Pitching: Accuracy, mechanics, and consistency.
• Fielding: Ground balls, glove work, and throws.
• Throwing: Accuracy and arm strength.
• Fly Balls: Tracking and catching ability.
• Batting: Swing mechanics, contact, and power.
• Base Running: Speed and awareness.
