My my My my
2018 Demo Day

1 PM TO 4 PM
Future Prospects
502 Irwin Street San Rafael
We're very excited to offer a terrific opportunity for our members to attend a hands on demo of the new USA bats offered by Wilson, DeMarini, and Louisville Slugger! As you know by now, the new bat rules will take effect on January 1st 2018. This demo will give our members the ability to check out the new bats risk free!
There will be a representative present to help answer any questions you may have about the new bats and rules.

For those who attend Wilson will offer an online store with league pricing. They can offer you 20% off equipment via the online store for a couple days. Wilson will work with a local dealer and have the items shipped to that store location. Players could buy products online just like amazon and then pick them up at the dealers location.

In addition to the bats demo, gloves, helmets, bags and catchers gear will also be showcased!

Managers and Coaches Wanted!

Managers and Coaches Wanted for the 2018 Spring Season!

NSLL’s success is based in large measure on the strength of its managers and coaches.  The heart of Little League is what happens between the coaches and each player.  You will be a teacher and role model.  You will need to be sensitive to the mental and physical limitations of children of Little League age.  The game is a vehicle of learning and enjoyment for every player entrusted to your care, and is not an end in itself.  To accomplish this, you must:

  • Share our goal of maintaining a positive environment for your players and parents.
  • Make sure your coaches do the same.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions.

If you are interested in being an assistant coach download the Volunteer Application in our Documents section under Managers and Coaches

Manager applications are due no later than Dec. 4th

Coach applications are needed by Dec. 31st

New Bat Standard

FOR 2018
Beginning in the Spring 2018 Season, Little League International will adopt a new bat standard - The USA Baseball Bat Standard.  Little League-approved baseball bats that are approved for use in prior seasons will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity starting on January 1, 2018. Below is a Q&A regarding this change and a link to the Little League site with all the details.

Q: When does this new standard take affect?
A: January 1st, 2018
Q: Will I need to buy a new bat for 2018?
A: Yes. No current bats are legal after Jan. 1 2018
Q: Can my player still use their current bat for Fall Ball this year?
A: Yes. The new standard does not take affect until January

Q: When will the new bats be available?
A: New USA Bat certified bats will be available on September 1st
Q: What is the difference between the current and new bats?
A: The new bats will be 2 5/8" instead of the current 2 1/4" and will perform more like wood bats. This means they will be "deader" than the current top performing composite bats such as the Mako. Because of the increase in barrel size, the sweet spot will be bigger.
Q: Which manufacturers will be producing these bats?
A: All current manufacturers will be making these bats such as Easton, Wilson, Marucci, Louisville Slugger, DeMarini, etc.
Q: What will these new bats be made of?
A: Most likely the same as today. There will be composite, aluminum, and hybrid (e.g. composite handle, aluminum barrel) offerings. The difference will be in the swing weight and balance.
Q: How much will these cost?
A: Probably the same as today.
Q: Why not just use wood?
A: Wood is a finite resource. Today's youth bats are not made of the very high level woods available for MLB. They are also much heavier and would be a problem for younger players to swing correctly. The composite and aluminum bats can be made to be much lighter than wood.

Q: Will this affect Babe Ruth, High School, and Travel Ball?
A: The new standard has been adopted by Babe Ruth. High School and college use the BBCOR standard and will not be affected. Travel Ball such as the USSSA will NOT adopt this standard so your current bats are still good for USSSA tournaments.
