NSLL will hold its annual membership meeting on Tuesday September 8, 2015 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Hamilton Community Center, 503 B South Palm Drive, Novato.
All are welcome to attend, although only "Members," as defined in the league's Constitution, may vote during the meeting. "Members" are volunteers (such as coaches or managers or others) who submitted an approved volunteer application for the 2015 season, or who paid membership dues of $25.
Members' attendance is important to share ideas and to have a quorum to conduct business.
The agenda for the meeting is:
(1) Report by the President and Treasurer covering:
· Highlights of the year
· The condition of NSLL
· A general summary of funds received and expended for previous year, and currently in possession of NSLL, with names of financial institutions where funds are held
· For the past year, the amount and nature of any property acquired
(2) Membership Report
(3) Recommendation on the overall number and particular board positions for 2016
(4) Presentation of candidates running for the 2016 board
(5) Membership vote on proposed number of board members for 2016, and vote for 2016 board members
(6) Other business appropriately brought before the Membership - an opportunity to discuss other issues and ideas for the season
If you cannot attend the annual meeting but would like an absentee ballot, contact our Secretary, Christopher Gilkerson, at email@example.com. He will email you a PDF ballot which you then must print, sign, seal, and hand-deliver according to instructions you will receive. Absentee ballots will be opened and counted at the Annual Meeting.
Volunteer for the Board of Directors
If you would like to run for the 2016 Board of Directors (with a one-year term that starts October 1), you must submit your statement of interest in a WORD document to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday August 28 in order to have your name appear on the ballot. Your statement may not be any longer than 250 words and will be printed verbatim (with a cut-off at 250 words). You may include in your statement the positions on the board for which you are most qualified and interested, although only after the election will the newly elected board choose among themselves who will serve in particular board positions. Per our constitution, a board member must attend at least 70% of all regularly scheduled board meetings or is subject to removal.
Immediately following the membership meeting on September 8, the new board will meet in an organizational executive session to finalize officer and other roles on the board to help us get up and running as soon as possible to prepare for the 2015 season.
The 9-10 All Stars made it to the semifinal game of the Section One Championship Tournament. But after three straight game days, they ran out of steam against Rincon Valley dropping their final game 10-4. Rincon Valley moves on to the Championship game against Woodland National for a spot in the State Championship Tournament. Great job boys... and great representation of Novato South Little League to play farther than any other All Star team in Novato South history!
Congratulations to Woodland National who defeated Rincon Valley to advance to the State Finals.
